"The Fairy Tale World of Kenji Miyazawa" - Children Literary Theatre in Practice Project
The fairy tales of the famous Japanese fairy tale writer Kenji Miyazawa was selected for creation of this project. It is part of the LCSD’s School Performing Arts in Practice Scheme launched in primary and special schools.

《西西瑪利亞》文學體驗劇場工作坊
配合演出《西西瑪利亞》沉浸式劇場,為使觀眾更了解西西原著、劇團的美學風格,以及沉浸式劇場與觀眾的關係,與《字花》及是次演出的劇場構作賴閃芳小姐合作,在演出前舉行6節文學體驗劇場工作坊,令參與者更了解是次演出的創作過程,令欣賞演出時尋找更多的趣味。

Stories from “A New Account of Tales of the World” are selected for students and used as the creative base for theatre training and performances. It is part of the LCSD’s School Performing Arts in Practice Scheme launched in primary and special schools.
2018 Community Cultural Ambassador "Free Playing Park"
The programme is themed around the children's freedom and comprises of a series of workshops, touring performances and a finale showcase. Realizing "Free Play" spirits, all props are made by daily objects in performances. Both children & adult audiences participate in the performance and join this "Free Play" journey!
2023-24 18dART Community Arts Scheme - "Good Times of Kwai Tsing Theatre Project III"
The programme offers various types of workshops and showcases in Kwai Tsing that aims to provide chances for workshop participants to think, create and perform. To continue with the theme of Good Times of Kwai Tsing, participants can produce a literary landscape theatre of Kwai Tsing from a humanistic perspective which allows residents to experience and appreciate the uniqueness of the community.

Hot waves invade the Kowloon Peninsula. The average daily temperature recorded is over 100°C. The public in Hong Kong is advised to stay indoors to avoid summer heat. Alternatively, they can head to Ronin Theatre to enjoy music, have a chat and browse the flea market until the temperature drops at dusk.

2017-18 “Theatre in Animal Fables” Literary Theatre in Practice Project
Themed around animal fables, the project rides on famous stories crafted by both local and foreign writers. It is part of the LCSD’s School Performing Arts in Practice Scheme launched in primary and special schools.
“The Realness of Space” –
Stage Design Advanced Workshop
Based on classic text Miss Julie by August Strindberg, the instructor conducts close reading and analyses with the participants, who have to design two different sets of stage design according to two completely different styles of directorial executions. It aims to enable participants to choose effective imagery and space to manifest the works’ ‘realness’ under different circumstances in the process. The interpretations of different designers towards the same text are introduced and compared.
The workshop also offers a glimpse of contemporary and old-style theatre aesthetics in China and the rest of the world. Participants are able to get a deeper understanding of the evolution of theatre aesthetics.

"Fantastic O!"
The programme is themed around the elderly’s vision and comprises of a series of workshops, touring performances and a finale showcase. Telling the story of a senior citizen who persists in the arts of decorative chinese flower scaffolding, it invokes the public’s respect for the elderly and recognises traditional crafts.

Emerging playwright Wu Tianlin’s creation, directed by Alex Tam Hung Man. The work is inspired by Virginia Woolf’s Orlando.
The first reading last year was unforgettable. This year, the play reading will be conducted à la environmental theatre to give audience an even more memorable experience.

2016 Community Cultural Ambassador Scheme ─
"Stories of Rice Family"
Based on theme, rice, a range of activities are organised in the scheme, e.g. touring performance, workshop, finale and exhibition. ‘Yuen Long Jasmine Rice’, for instance, is presented via an ‘acoustic music concept’. Rice farming was once a signature industry in Hong Kong. The event aims to promote the pursuits of ‘green living’ and ‘simple living’ among local families.

2015-16 "The Storytelling Sewed Bear" Literary Theatre Scheme
Hong Kong renowned writer Xi Xi’s Record of Sewed Bear as the creating source, this literary production retells some of the stories that are rich in Chinese cultural elements through innovative theatrical approaches. Performing workshop : "Sentimental Brecht"
Brecht’s Mother Courage and her Children as the entry point, the performance workshop allows participants to see the other side of Brecht – his way of thinking, including how he uses text to reflect the state of living and reclaims the interest of performing. By knowing this side of Brecht, participants will also have the opportunity to see the other side of self.

Stage Technique Application Workshop
The workshop introduces theatrical lighting and sounds and the know-how of simple stage setting accompanied with demonstration. Participations will be shown the various stage techniques for creating different stage effects. It is a stepping stone towards mastering the technical knowledge in professional stage production and will equip participants to use what they learnt in stage production.

"The Adventure of The Little Pink Dog" - Performance cum Stage Effect Demonstration
Pink Dog is caught in a sandstorm and lost his master. Having gone through many hardships being a tramp, it is reunited with his master and realized the importance of ‘cherish each present moment’. The adventure of Pink Dog is presented on stage accompanied by the theatrical effects of lighting and sounds. It is an attempt of Theatre Ronin to introduce to the public a deeper understanding of stage production and the Studio Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

Stories of Object: Landscape of The CITY from post 80s is a creative collaboration of four authors, resulted from numerous exchanges with the Artistic Director of Theatre Ronin and experts in various art and stage genres (literary works, visual effects, lighting and sounds). The work combines literary texts, play reading and different theatrical elements to create a unique experience for the audience to peep into the mental world of the authors and to share their visual landscapes of our city.
